T'Gallants Guesthouse is situated in the historic port of Charlestown, near St. Austell, in Cornwall. Charlestown is a Conservation Area of special local importance. A mile away is the town of St Austell with it's main line connections to London and other major cities.

Either side of the village over the coast path lies Carlyon Bay to the East, with it's huge sandy beach and to the West, the pretty beach at Porthpean.

Visit us here in the heart of Cornwall, an ideal place to base yourself to explore the region. There are many attractions nearby which will enthral you. From the multi-million pound Eden Project to the quaint havens which dot the coastline. Charlestown is a working harbour where often replica square sail ships can be inspected.

The area is steeped in history, smuggling was a major income for some of the locals in the bygone age. There were also the wreckers who lured unwary captains onto the rocks. Tin mining played a big part in the local economy, many of the engine houses still dot the landscape.

Nowadays the leisure trade is vital to Cornwall and many businesses have sprung up to cater for the annual influx of visitors. So even if the weather does not entice you to the beach there are always plenty of other attractions to keep the family occupied.
